| In the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, it was noted that comprehensible information sources were not available to the researchers (Sageman 2004). Information was either available in a disconnected form, not allowing for comparison studies across events, groups or tactics, or made available in written articles – which are not readily suitable for quantitative analysis of terrorist networks.
