[The classification of educational qualifications in the ISCED classification contains a wealth of assumptions] (Ortmanns/Schneider; Schröder/Ganzeboom 2013), but nevertheless provides an appropriate opportunity to compare educational qualifications from different countries. In the following, the educational qualifications of the fugitives are therefore transferred to the category scheme of ISCED 2011 and presented (Table 16). The following ISCED categories are distinguished in the 2011 version (UNESCO 2012):
ORTMANNS, V., SCHNEIDER, S. 2016. Can We Assess Representativeness of Cross-National Surveys Using the Education Variable? Survey Research Methods 10 (3): 189-210. SCHRÖDER, H., GANZEBOOM, H. B. G. 2013. Measuring and Modelling Level of Education in European Societies. European Sociological Review. Advance Access published October 29, 2013. Online. Available at www.esr.oxfordjournals.org. (Accessed: 03.07.18). UNESCO 2012. Operational Manual for ISCED 2011 (International Standard Classification of Education). 1st. Edition. Montreal: UNESCO Institut for Statistics. |
Inconsistency of education variables in cross-national public opinion surveys. International Journal of Public Opinion Research, 28(4), 562-582.Doi:10.1093/ijpor/edv025. Schröder, Heike und Harry B. G. Ganzeboom (2013). Measuring and modelling level of education in European societies. European Sociological Review, 30(1), 119-136.
