3.5.2 Assumptions of the Solow growth model
In the Solow model, the national economy is regarded as an aggregate unit that carries out all production and consumption activities (Solow 1956). The existence of a state is abstracted and it is assumed that there are no monetary effects. The national economy possesses at any time t certain quantities of capital (C), labour (L) and technology (T), from which together a production function (F), output (Y) is produced (ibid.).
the product Tt ∗ Lt is called effective work. For the production function F it is assumed that it is neoclassical and has corresponding properties, whereby the production factors are essential (ibid.). Here a production factor is described as essential if without its use the output is always 0:
Furthermore, constant economies of scale and homogeneity of degree 1 in effective labour and capital are assumed. Thus an increased use of the mentioned production factors leads to an increased production in the same proportion (ibid.). With a reduced use this leads accordingly to a reduced production:

Annahmen
