In some economically and socially advanced countries women have succeeded in gaining greater access to training and employment and increased economic autonomy and social status. The impact of globalization is two-sided, offering an opportunity for more and better jobs provided women can balance work with family responsibilities, while at the same time fostering types of work that disproportionately expose women to precarious and vulnerable employment.
